Today’s Scripture Threshing for Thursday, June 13, 2019
Today’s Text: Ephesians 1:3-14
Key Verses: Ephesians 1:5 (ESV): “He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will.”
A king was in his throne room, holding a council with his noblemen, and high ministers of state, when suddenly there was a bang and a clatter at the door of the throne room. All eyes turned as the door burst open and a young boy ran into the room. A royal guardsmen tried to stop the boy so that he may not disturbed the council; but the boy simply laughed. “The king is my Daddy!” He said, bouncing into the open arms of the king.
Our text today is an open invitation to celebrate our identity in Christ. As a believer in Christ, you’re a child of the king. You outrank any nobleman, adviser, minister, ambassador, or dignitary. You are better than a thousand angels in the court of heaven. That is your position with God. You have access to His throne room, and no satanic guard or angelic hosts can stop you.
Quote for the Day: “You are not what the world calls or makes you. You are a son of Maker of heaven and earth. To the degree that you embrace this truth is the extent you’re able to celebrate your identity in Christ.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to walk in my full right, dominion and identity—in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
