Dare to be a Daniel

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, April 27, 2023

Today’s Text: Daniel 1:3-21

Key Verses: Daniel 1:8 (ESV): “But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king’s food, or with the wine that he drank. Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself."

Would you dare to believe that God, who called you to Himself and equipped you with His Spirit, could work mightily through you? It is true that times are hard and temptations are real; but God's call upon your life is even more real. God is always steps ahead of any circumstance we may ever find ourselves. And, He is never caught by surprise.

Be sure that He placed you exactly where you are for a purpose. Character is always discovered in the most arduous and challenging moments of life. We can learn this truth from Daniel in this scripture. He dared to be different. He found himself in a tempting situation; but he refused to let it interfere with his relationship with God.

When God sets His heart to use a man, such man must strive to be usable and obedient in all things. Daniel set a great example of these things. He chose to live for God. He refused compromise. Today, and through out history, we are blessed with examples of Christian men and women who knew that the hands of God upon them and dared to be different for him. Make your life count for God. Dare to be different. Date to be a Daniel.
