Today’s Text: Acts 9:1-9
Key Verse: Acts 9:5 (ESV): "And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting."
While passing through this world, life often brings things to our paths that confront us as if they were our greatest opposition only to see them sometimes somehow become our greatest opportunity for transformation. Just ask Saul. He was confronted by a most unthinkable opposition on his way to persecuting the early Christians, thinking he was doing the right thing. The opposition was so terrifying and devastating that he was blinded by it. But then, it was an encounter with Jesus, and, in that moment, his world was turned around forever and his life was redirected for good.
Don't be surprised if your greatest challenges become catalysts for your greatest transformation. Just be open to the unexpected, and be humble and sincere enough to ask, "Who are you, Lord?" I am confident that God will respond and transform your life forever. He (God) always uses unexpected detour or challenges to lead us to our life's transformation. But in each of such golden moments, we must not fail to ask our sincere questions that open us up to new possibilities, purposes, and identities. This is the way in which our greatest oppositions become our greatest opportunity for growth and transformation.
Quote for the Day: "In moments of unexpected encounter with God, our journey to the transformation that would change the course of our lives is when we embrace the experience, and let God turn things around for our good!" (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I come before you today, asking for your unexpected blessings to turn my life around. Just as you surprised Saul on the road to Damascus, I ask that you surprise me with your goodness and mercy. Lord, I am open to your detours and unexpected routes. Transform my challenges into opportunities for growth, transformation, restoration, and blessings — in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, Ph.D.
