Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, March 18, 2024
Today’s Text: 1 John 5:1-4
Key Verse: 1 John 5:4 (ESV): "For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith."
I sat back with deep satisfaction and fulfilling joy as I watched my wife, Pastor Doris, dissect the word of life on the theme of faith that conquers. Her highlights reminds me some of the real life battles that we have faced in our together , which we overcame through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
In today's text, Appstle John is talking about being born of God and how that allows us to overcome the world many pain and troubles. His goal is to emphasize that faith in Christ is the key to this victory. And if you take a broader look, you'd find that the verse is part of a larger passage about the importance of believing in Jesus as the Son of God and loving one another.
Dear friends, let us always remember this. It is our faith that gives the victory needed to conquer the world, not our wisdom or education. Let us hold fast to our faith, even in the face of trials and challenges. Let us strive for our faith to be like that of the heroes of old, who through their faith conquered kingdoms, stopped the mouths of lions, and quenched the power of fire. Let us press on in faith, knowing that it will carry us through to victory and bring glory to God.
Let us stand tall and declare, 'I will not be defeated by sin, by fear, by doubt! My God has already triumphed, and I will triumph with Him!' Faith is the weapon that conquers, the shield that deflects the enemy's attacks, and the sword that pierces the darkness. Let us wield faith with courage and confidence, knowing that our God is the ultimate victor!

Prayer: Dear Lord, Jesus, I come before you with grateful hearts, thanking you for the gift of faith that conquers. Help me to hold fast to my faith, even in the midst of trials and challenges. Give me the courage to stand tall and declare that I will not be defeated by the enemy's attacks — in your most glorious and precious name I pray. Amen.
