Today’s Text: Hebrews 10:19-25
Key Verse: Hebrews 10:22 (NKJV): “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
I lived in a gated environment that requires automated screening of car registrations to gain access to the estate. I once arrived from a long trip almost in the middle of the night and I met a long entourage of a highly placed politician stopped and stranded at the entrance. They were not stopped by a huge gate. Only an automatic barrier pole that should lift for screened people to come in. But unfortunately, they needed a pass.
I arrived, and they had to vacate the block and when I approached the barrier, it lifts itself and access was granted. I felt so special. In the Old Testament, access to God in the tabernacle and the temple was strictly limited. Only the high priest could go in—only once a year—through the curtain to offer sacrifices in the Most Holy Place. But thanks be to Jesus Christ, our Lord; who by His death on the cross tore the curtain of the temple in two from top to bottom, showing that the barrier between man and God was lifted forever.
Because of Christ’s sacrifice for sin, everyone who comes to Him have free and full assurance of access into His presence at any time. My friend, you don’t have to stay stuck in your sense of rejection and frustration. You may come right to your free passage of grace. Jesus Christ has given you the right of access. Therefore, come with boldness to avail yourself of the great privilege of access to the presence of God through the blood of Jesus.
Quote for the Day: “In Christ , you are brought into a new economy of faith and you can enter into the holy place of God."
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for paying such a price to enable me to have unrestricted entry into Your presence. Please help me Lord to take away any hinderance that is stopping me from gaining access to Your presence — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
