God’s Hands in Unexpected Places

Daily Scripture Threshing for Wednesday, April 24, 2024

Today’s Text: 2 Kings 6:1-7

Key Verse: 2 Kings 6:6 (ESV): "Then the man of God said, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, he cut off a stick and threw it in there and made the iron float."

God speaks to us through situations. The prophet's ax head must fall into the water so that we can learn that God can wrought miracles in unexpected things and places. He cares about our smallest concerns: The prophet's ax head was a small, seemingly insignificant item, but God still chose to intervene and restore it. The same is the God we serve. He can work in unexpected ways. He caused the iron ax head to float on water, defying natural laws, showing that His power is not limited by human understanding.

Friends, God's presence is with us even in difficult situations: The prophet and his servant were in a challenging situation, but God's presence and power were with them. Are you on a journey in which you feel frustrated and worried about how you'll complete the task because of a missing link? God sees your need and can intervene in unexpected ways. He is able to give creative solution in smallest concerns. So never feel your problems are too small for God to care about. Leaen feom today's passage. Trust in the God that restored the prophet's ax head. He can restore and redeem your losses and difficulties. Let us trust in His power and presence in our lives, no matter how small or huge our concerns may seem.

Quote for the Day: "God's power can redeem our losses, restore hope, and lift us above our circumstances. He does miracles with unexpected things and in unexpected places." (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, You are the God of restoration, redemption, and miracles! Please lift us above our circumstances. Let your grace and power redeem our losses, restore our hope, and turn our darkest moments into moments of wonder and awe — in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
