I will be with You

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, March 16, 2023

Today’s Text: 2 Kings 4:8-17

Key Verses: Isaiah 43:2 (ESV): “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;

and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”

Because we are redeemed with the blood of Jesus Christ His Son, God sets us apart for Himself as peculiar treasures. He watches over us day and night and never lets go of us. No greater joy or comfort exists better than this. Yes, it is a blessing to be aware of the presence of God with us in our difficult times. God’s word is so filled with precious promises of the Lord’s presence during our lives’ difficult times. In Exodus 3:12, God said, “I will surely be with you," God said, "and this will be the sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, all of you will worship God on this mountain.”

Therefore, Deuteronomy 31:6 encourages us to “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." In verse 8 of the same chapter of Deuteronomy, we read how: “The LORD Himself goes before you; He will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged." So, you are precious in God's sight. His delight is in you, above any other people. Whatever you are going through, God is with you, and you need fear no evil. Water and fire are used proverbial phrase to depict most extreme calamities in the world; but none shall overwhelm or consume you. Smile!

Quote for the Day: “If you never passed through waters; perhaps you need to go back, you may never have been on the right path in life." (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Lord, O how I thank you for your presence with me. Thank You for Your promise to never leave nor forsake me. Even on days of waters and fires, You never leave me alone, weary and empty. You hold me tight. Thank You father — in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
