I will not Lose my Stability

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, November 16, 2023

Today’s Text: Psalm 91:1-16

Key Verse: Psalm 91:2 (NKJV): “I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;

My God, in Him I will trust.””

Why should you be an unhappy person? Why are you tossed by mood swings and wrong thinking? It is not because God is not good to you; but it is because you allow negative thoughts, and also speak negative words out of your mouth. Let’s be frantic: this has a lot to do with how people grew up. And though you’re a Christian, yet my mind, emotions, and behavior were still all over the place. David was in such a moment in his life when several occasions get his way and he could seek “pity party” or hide his face in a most pathetic place.

Many of us have been on such runs of life’s ladder—riding an emotional rollercoaster until it absolutely derail. At such times, we can learn from David. He believed God to do big things in his life. He started looking much less at himself, his weaknesses and where we came from. He knows that God wants to do great things in his life despite all that he had gone through and is going through—especially when king Saul, who was supposed to defend him became his worse enemy.

David learnt how not to lose his stability: “I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”” Even if you already came very close to failing; the moment you stop trying to solve your problems by yourself and shift from those problems and from yourself to God; your confidence in God comes alive and your stability is ensured.

Quote for the Day: “Stability is when Christ dwells in your heart by faith: we become rooted and grounded in love.“

Prayer: Dear God, we come to you now, seeking your guidance and love. Please help us to cultivate the spiritual stability we need in our lives. Help us to trust in your love and your wisdom, even when life feels uncertain or chaotic. Grant us the strength and courage to face our challenges with grace and confidence — in Jesus’ name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
