Today’s Text: Proverbs 21:1-8
Key Verse: Proverbs 21:1 (ESV): ”The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.”
If and when we learn to yield dominion of all we are and have to Jesus Christ, the One who rules supreme in the affairs of His people, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, who is sovereign over every sovereign and rules in every place and realm; we are assured of a well guided life.
See how the today’s text open before us the Supremacy of Christ. Could we really withhold control from Him?! Yes, we have a choice, but we can only rob ourselves the blessings that are ours if He were in charge. Imagine the manner in which letting God take control of our lives is likened to how streams of water are led by canals and trenches through the land so it may be refreshed and fructified, and so that lands and people might also be refreshed and fructified through its course.
What benediction or blessing could be more upon a man! Through God, your thoughts and counsels are so blessed and made wise and true. They’re endowed with strength to be blessed and to be a blessing to others.
Apart from the blessings, if and when our life’s course are controlled by the Lord, I know no satanic dictator or detractor, or power and principality, or force of terror that can stop you. No one is able to upset the immutable purposes of God or overthrow his supreme reign.
Is your life under so many things beyond your control? Whether physical or spiritual, trust in the Lord who rules supreme in the affairs of men. He demonstrated His strength over Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, Ahab, and Herod. He turned the heart of Pharaoh in Moses' day, Xerxes in Esther's day, and Saul of Tarsus in Ananias' day; and He is still on His throne today.
Quote for the Day: “In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will.” (Paul of Tarsus, Ephesians 1:11)
Prayer: Dear LORD, help me yield control of life to you. Teach me to give up all my worries about the things that are beyond my control. I know that You have already put those things into perspective for me. All I need is to let you have your way, in Jesus name. Amen.
