Today's Text: Isaiah 1:18-20
Key Verse: Isaiah 1:18 (NIV): "“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

Isaiah has been warning the people of Israel about their idols. No doubt that the message has been clear that all idols must be abolished with all other futile human-made objects of worship. The prophet made the coming "Day of the Lord," clear to tge people: a time of judgment when God will humble the proud and exalt His own. Therefore, to escape God's judgment and find His mercy, God invites His people to reason together. This invitation is even more important to our lives today.
God is bringing us to a reflection on our relationship with Him. By His blood of eternal covenant He secured our cleansing and redemption so that our sins no natter how red as crimson are made white as snow and like wool. No matter our past, God's power to cleanse and redeem is greater. God not only desires to restore us to a right relationship with Him, He has the power to do so. But we must come into reasoning to willfully embrace His love and mercy. He wants to help us with our heavy burden for His easier yokes; but we must be willing to trade our sorrows for His glory; our sins for His forgiveness and our emptiness for His fulness.
Action Steps: Reflect on your relationship with God, considering areas where you may need to "reason together" with Him. Recognize God's power to cleanse and redeem. Seek His forgiveness and restoration in areas where you may have fallen short. Strive to cultivate a deeper understanding of God's character and His desire to restore you to a right relationship with Him.
Quote for the Day: "We are always gunning for God's blessing. Obviously we are unaware how much they are ours already. But why is that we always ignore His invitation to reason together, which is our greatest opportunity to reflect on our relationship with Him and seek His cleansing and redemption." (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for ever searching love that's always reaching out for me. Thank You for inviting me to reason with a You. Please guide me in Your truth, and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Help me to cultivate a deeper understanding of Your character and Your desire to restore me to a right relationship with You — in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.
