My Change is Coming

Daily Scripture Threshing for Sunday, November 7, 2021

Today’s Text: Job 14:7-14

Key Verse: Job 14:14 (KJV): “If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

One of the greatest lies that the devil tells us about our daily lives, perhaps, is that things will always be the same, or get worse. He shows us a false vision of failure. He amplifies the downside of the hills and maximizes our weaknesses. But we are blessed with great scriptural admonitions written to tell us key truths that teach us about possibilities and certainty of change. We are blessed by several examples of godly men and women who went from trauma, suffering, and hopelessness unto an incredible manifestation of grace and glory. A good example of such men is Job. His story teaches us that God is present and in control no matter how intense our suffering may be.

Like Job, we all have our moments of deep solemn questions. And the only true answer to our questions comes from the word of God. Yes, we find comforting answers from what the Bible says about Job. This shows us that while some changes are incidental to human efforts, most of our desired abiding and true change comes to us out of the prominent and extraordinary intervention of God. Job’s confession is a revelation to us that the change we desire of the Lord will come to us when we learn the secret of waiting upon God. Brethren, there is triumph in patience. The confession of Job proved true at the end. He did not have to wait all the days of his life: only of his appointed time; and his change truly came. Folks your desired change is coming. Wait!

Quote for the Day: “Seasons of temptation are like special seasons of incubation for the Christian manifestation. Any life that skips incubation is naturally aborted.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Lord, hide me in your closet: your secret place where you break down your mud, turn him upon your wheel and mold him to your image, breathe your breath in him and present him your mighty army, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
