Our Text: John 1:14-18
Key Verse: John 1:16 (KJV): ”And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.”
The wealth of this scripture comes to us in versions: "From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another." (NLT) We can be grateful for abundance through Christ. That's what His fullness means. It is a technical theological term, meeting us in our state and sense of emptiness; the plenitude of divine grace and truth, which makes us who were no people His own.
We often limit his fullness to material abundance, and fleshly blessings, but the word "grace" in our text is a pointer to deeper abundance than matters. We have received more than we deserve. We have power to become children of God. Grace itself is enough, but we have even more. We received grace for grace. i.e. God's rich and free gifts are unleashed upon us in continuing daily greater measures. This is the point, the fullness of the supply is constant; and the power to receive increases with the use. And never diminishes except with neglect.
Quote for the Day: “Grace brings us to the foot of the cross. But it turns out debit into credit, our deficit into sufficiency. By His grace, our denial becomes acceptance.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, please fill my emptiness with Your strength and mighty power. Help me fix the missing pieces in my life's several puzzles. Fill me Lord, with your unfathomable, never-ending, and never failing love. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
