Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, June 24, 2024
Today’s Text: Romans 3:21–26
Key Verse: Romans 3:24–25 (ESV): "And are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."
With much thanks to the redemption found in Christ Jesus, we receive the gift of salvation freely through God's grace. This gift is priceless and available without cost or condition. Preachers aren't sales people. No! Who they are are sharers of the Good News that Christ died for the sins of the world (1 Corinthians 15:3). Salvation can't be bought or earned through any man's self efforts no matter who he is, or his social status, and good deeds.
Tge salvation God offers humanity is a free gift, as Isaiah said, it is available "without money and without price" (Is 55:1). So, God isn't interested in bargaining or negotiating it at all. Instead, He offers salvation on His own terms and expense. He holds out the precious gift of salvation in His powerful hands, inviting us to receive it freely. Just as we receive the essentials of life - air, water, love, faith, and hope - without cost, we can also receive salvation at no expense.
Our Lord, Jesus, Christ is the only One whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood. It is by His grace, which is a free gift that we are justified and made right with God. We can't earn it or deserve it; it's a result of His kindness and love. He already paid the price for our sins, freeing us from their power and consequences. His sacrifice on the cross satisfies His justice and wrath against sin and appeases God's righteous anger, making a way for us to be reconciled to Him. Anyone who receives Jesus Christ by faith receives this gift of justification and redemption. Do you need to surrender or recommit your life to Christ, why not do it today!
Quote for the Day: "Salvation is not a product of race, but a product of grace; not of price, but of Christ: a gift so priceless, it's worth more than all the wealth in this world, yet freely given to all who would receive it." (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your love and grace. Thank you for the gift of salvation, which is freely available to all. Please help me to embrace it with gratitude and share it great passion with others. And may I never take this great grace for granted — in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, Ph.D.
