Spiritual Blindness

Daily Scripture Threshing for Friday, December 1, 2023

Today’s Text: 2 Corinthians 4:1-6

Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:4 (NKJV): “Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”

It’s that season of the year when the spirit and power of light come alive to the public glare. It’s so brilliant, attractive and widespread that if nothing is wrong with a person’s sight, they should perceive the beauty of the light without stress. In the same way, it is one thing to see the brilliance of the lights but it is another thing to make a sense of it.

Today’s word of God presents us with why the truth is right in front of people, and they still can’t see it. We can know just what is in the way blocking their view of God by this scripture. So are you wondering why your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, acquaintances and church-going relatives can not get the reason for the season? Here is why! The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

As a Christian, that’s not a position to be. Beside having sufficient light from the scripture; we have been freed from the god of this world. We must therefore walk in the light of Christ. And pertaining to those who are lost in dark, we can pray God to remove whatever is in their way so that they can see the light.

Quote for the Day: “Morality, education and philosophy cannot remove obstacles or distractions interfering with people’s sight of the light. Only Jesus is the light of the world.

Prayer: Dear God, Father, I bind the evil spirits that are blinding the minds of the people around me. I pray that they would be able to see clearly, to recognize who You are, and to give their hearts to You. Remove all hindrances that the enemy would use to distract them from Your truth — in Jesus’ name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
