Stepping into Destiny: Doing Exploits

Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, January 13, 2024

Today's Text: Genesis 12:1-9

Key Verse: Genesis 12:1 (KJV): "Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee."

Abraham's journey to his destiny began with a divine command to leave his country, kindred, and father's house. This command was not just a physical relocation but a spiritual one. It required Abraham to trust God and step into the unknown. I must quickly point this out: if the Patriarch had failed to yield that difficult command. He may stil have had his farming going on; have the same amount of herd and flock; the life he knew still going on; but he would never realized the enormity of the untold blessings he had missed for himself and generations after him.

Like Abraham, we too have to leave behind the familiar. God Sometimes need us to let go of the familiar to step into our destiny. This may mean leaving behind usual obsession for possession, old habits, relationships, or mindsets that hold us back. God always eants us to trust His plan. Abraham trusted God's plan, even when he didn't know the details. We must learn to trust God's plan for our lives, even when it doesn't make sense to us. He obeyed God's command, even when it was difficult. Obedience is key to stepping into our destiny. We must be willing to obey God's commands, even when they challenge us. So, as you journey through this year, you must learn that stepping in to destiny sometimes, or often, means stepping into the unknown. Abraham stepped into the unknown, not knowing what lay ahead. When we take a step of faith into the unknown, trusting God. He guides us through. There is sea of opportunities and a cloud of untold blessings if you walk with God by faith. You will step out in to an unimaginable destiny.

Action Steps: Reflect on what's holding you back from stepping into your destiny. Is it fear, doubt, or something else? Ask God to give you the courage to leave behind the familiar and step into the unknown. Trust God's plan for your life, even when you don't know the details. Obey God's commands, even when they challenge you.

Quote for the Day: "Stepping into destiny requires trust, obedience, and a willingness to leave behind the familiar." (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Abraham, who stepped into his destiny by obeying Your command. Help us to trust Your plan for our lives and to obey Your commands, even when they challenge us. Give us the courage to leave behind the familiar and step into the unknown — in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.

Father and Lord, help me to trust you even when I don’t know the details of what will happen. Give me the courage and confidence to follow your path and will. Amen
