Strong Delusion

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, November 9, 2023

Today’s Text: 2 Corinthians 4:1-6

Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:4 (NKJV): “Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”

The glorious Author of the gospel, and the finisher of our faith is the light of the world; and so are all of us, the faithfuls, who receive, believe in, and follow Him. Unfortunately, the opposite is the case and ways of those who reject Christ’s light. The one to whom this world hold allegiance has  blinded their minds because they do not believe. To fulfill his assignments of killing, stealing and destroying, Satan does everything within his power to hide the light from people by deluding the truth and darkening their eye’s of understanding. And the delusion is so sneaky and strong that those who are blinded are not able to tell they are.

But we can know when a person is under this delusional pressure of Satan: When they believe his lies that scientific or educational reason, or conscience and morality is sufficient; when they are craving for enjoyment, believing Satan’s lie that all what matter is to yield to happiness and shun faith; and when you are engrossed and distracted by wealth, anxieties, and pursuits of earthly things. Is it not awful if the way of life is hidden? Don’t miss it: the expression "hid," signifies veiled, or covered over. So, you see, it only covered by darkness. But the gospel itself is God candlestick enlightening men and removing every veil from the heart.

Quote for the Day: “Once, under Mosaic laws, God’s way and will was veiled and shadowed, but the veil and the shadows are done away in Christ.“

Prayer: Dear Lord, it is clear that Satan is on his final mission of preventing people from knowing You and trusting You with their lives. I hereby stand against his tactics in this generation. Send Your unstoppable gospel light through me this day and always — in Jesus’ name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
