Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Monday, June 24, 2019
Our Text: 2 Corinthians 6:11-18
*Key Verse:* 2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV): "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
If a man has a thousand-acre farm and agrees to sell the land except one acre right in the center which he wants to keep for himself. By law of some lands he is allowed to have access to that one lone spot, and may have the right to build a road across the surrounding property in order to get to his land. This is how it is with Christians that give less than 100-percent surrender to God. The liability is often unlimited because the devil will take advantage of any inroad to reach that uncommitted area of our lives. That is why we are charged not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers.
All men are equal has a false and true atitude dimension. In creation and value, all men are equal; but in character and virtue, the gravity of inequality is vast. We must therefore be separate and stand out.
