Daily Scripture Threshing for Sunday, March 9, 2025
Today's Text: John 4:23-24
Key Verse: John 4:23 (ESV): "But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him."

This beautiful Sunday morning, when Christians from all over the world gather to worship, God is bringing us in to the context of Jesus' conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well, where He teaches her about the true nature of worship. Jesus emphasizes that true worshipers will worship God in spirit and truth, and that the Father is seeking such people to worship Him.
As followers of Christ, we are called to worship God in spirit and truth. This means that our worship should be genuine, heartfelt, and based on a true understanding of God's character and nature. We should not just go through the motions of worship, but rather, we should be deeply connected to God and sincerely express our love and adoration for Him.
The importance of worshiping God in spirit and truth cannot be overstated. When we worship God in this way, we are drawn closer to Him, and we experience a deeper sense of connection and intimacy with Him. We are also transformed by the power of His presence, and we become more like Him.
If you ever felt like your worship was lacking or superficial, remember that God is seeking true worshipers who will worship Him in spirit and truth. Let us strive to be those worshipers, and let us seek to deepen our connection with God through our worship.
Action Steps: Ask God to help you worship Him in spirit and truth. Focus on developing a deeper understanding of God's character and nature. Seek to be genuinely expressive in your worship. Surround yourself with others who share your passion for worshiping God in spirit and truth.
Quote for the Day: "Worship is not just about singing songs or reciting prayers; it's about cultivating a deep and intimate connection with God." (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You today, asking for Your help to worship You in spirit and truth. Help me to develop a deeper understanding of Your character and nature, and give me a heart that is genuinely and heartfeltly expressive in worship. Surround me with others who share my passion for worshiping You in spirit and truth — in Jesus' most glorious name. Amen.
