Beloved,
2025, Year of Exploits!
I welcome you to the year 2025, a year we have dedicated to 'Exploits'! As we embark on this new journey, let us remember that our God is a God of wonders and exploits. May we experience His mighty hand at work in our lives, families, church, and community.
Our text for the year is Daniel 11:32 (KJV): "And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits." An exploit is an extraordinary achievement or feat, often requiring courage, strength, and determination. In this context, exploits refer to the remarkable deeds that believers can accomplish when they know and trust in their God. It's about experiencing the empowering presence of God, which enables us to overcome challenges, achieve greatness, and make a lasting impact for His glory. As we journey through this year, may we know our God intimately, tap into His strength, and do exploits that bring honor to His name.
When we do exploits, God is glorified: Exploits bring honor and glory to God, demonstrating His power and majesty (Psalm 46:10, Isaiah 61:3); lives are transformed, i.e., to changed lives, as people experience the power of God and respond to the Gospel (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:47); communities are impacted, i.e., to have a ripple effect, impacting communities and societies as believers demonstrate God's love and power (Matthew 5:13-16, Galatians 6:10); and faith is strengthened, i.e., to strengthen our faith, as we see God work through us and others (Romans 4:20, Hebrews 11:1-2).
To experience exploits this year, we need intimacy with God. Knowing God intimately and trusting in His power and promises is essential for doing exploits (Daniel 11:32, Psalm 37:3-5). We need faith and obedience. Stepping out in faith and obedience to God's leading is crucial for experiencing exploits (Hebrews 11:6, 1 Samuel 15:22-23). We need prayer and intercession: Prayer and intercession can aid exploits by seeking God's guidance, power, and protection. (Luke 18:1-8, Ephesians 6:18). We also need community and teamwork: Collaborating with others and working together as a community can facilitate exploits (Matthew 18:19-20, Acts 2:42-47).
